The Prosser Airport looking west. Formerly Beardsley
Field, it was built in 1935 for the City of Prosser. In 1961, the City
transferred ownership and management to the Port of Benton. It features a single
runway 3,450 feet in length, with retro-reflective taxiway markers, a taxiway
crossover as a safety enhancement, and a newly constructed north tie down area
for visiting pilots. Commercial activity northeast of the airport along Wine
Country Road includes the Barn Motor Inn and Best Western Prosser Inn.
Photos taken 11/11/00. Prosser airport looking
south. The Barn Motor Inn is just aft of the wing tip. The Best Western is under
the wing tip. Camping area is in the center of the photo.
Present parking ramp looking southeast. Everything
is handy to the airport. Downtown is only 4 blocks away.
