I.  CONVERSION OF LYCOMING ENGINE (PDF - 10 pages, 2.2MB)

(From 65 HP. O-145-B2 into 75 HP. O-145-C2)

This is a technical description of why and how you would like to accomplish something in enough detail so it is clear to the reader, who may not be familiar with anything smaller than a 737. Use pages from tech or maintenance manuals, etc. It will add to the clarity and save lots of writing on your part.

Work with your A & P or AI, and have him get the local FSDO involved on your behalf.

II.  AIRCRAFT FLIGHT MANUAL SUPPLEMENT (PDF - 4 pages 1.2MB)

This format was derived from one that Dan Johnson, the local FSDO, gave me. It is the format that the FAA in Los Angeles likes, and while they made some changes in the details and retyped it, it sailed through without too many problems.

On page 4, paragraph C. I had included Sensenich propellers with the various models listed. The FAA deleted these propellers, but retained the static RPM at full throttle of: "not more than 2350; not less than 1890."

I suppose I should write them and ask them for the Sensenich propellers, in the event that I need a Sensenich sometime in the future.

III.  MAJOR REPAIR AND ALTERATION (PDF - 2 pages, 732KB)

This is the coveted FAA Form 337 which is filled out and signed off after the FAA in Los Angeles gives its approval and the modification has been completed.
